HOUSTON – Port of Houston's Barbours Cut and Bayport Container terminals are closed until further notice, officials said. There has been a reported case of COVID-19 in an employee, according to officials.

What are essential personnel, supply chains or operations? trending idea

I am writing to pose industry specific questions about terminal operations during these trying times, especially as government orders are issued that may affect terminal operations. When such orders are given, they usually include language excepting "essential" personnel, supply chains, and operations.

• Is there guidance on what products are deemed part of "essential supply chains" (i.e. gasoline, chemicals for water... more »

In an abundance of caution to minimize the risk of exposure to our employees, ILTA has directed all staff to work remotely until further notice. The best way to contact anyone at ILTA during the pandemic is via email.

What's happening with API 653, Other Government Inspections?

Questions for 3/19/20 ILTA Peer call:
• I am in the facility integrity group, which oversees API 653 in-service and out-of-service tank inspections. Any guidance on waivers for API 653 due dates?
• I'd second the question about API-653 extensions. There are a LOT of them due this year and this may end up being extended and/or personnel to do this may be mighty limited.
• What's the status of PHMSA required pipeline inspection... more »
